1. About SMARTFEE

SMARTFEE is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that provides school fee management, invoicing, and payment tracking tools for educational institutions in Nigeria. SMARTFEE operates purely as a software platform and is NOT a financial intermediary.

2. Direct Settlement Model

SMARTFEE does not hold, receive, or process school funds at any time. All payments made through the platform are processed directly by the school's own payment gateway (Paystack or Flutterwave) and settled directly into the school's designated bank account. SMARTFEE only records transaction data for reporting and reconciliation purposes.

3. School Responsibilities

Schools are responsible for: (a) maintaining their own payment gateway accounts, (b) ensuring their Paystack/Flutterwave credentials are valid and secure, (c) configuring correct bank settlement details, (d) complying with all applicable Nigerian financial regulations, and (e) the accuracy of fee structures and invoices generated.

4. Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

Parents/guardians acknowledge that payments are made directly to the school's payment gateway and that SMARTFEE bears no liability for payment disputes, refunds, or settlement issues which must be resolved directly with the school.

5. Data Privacy

SMARTFEE collects and stores student information, guardian details, and transaction records solely for the purpose of providing fee management services. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Limitation of Liability

SMARTFEE's liability is limited to the subscription fees paid by the school. SMARTFEE is not liable for: payment gateway outages, incorrect bank settlements, unauthorized access due to compromised school credentials, or any financial losses arising from payment processing.

7. Service Availability

SMARTFEE aims for 99.9% uptime but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance.
